MOSCOW (Dow Jones)--Kazakhstan's central bank said Tuesday that it's keeping its official refinancing rate steady at 11%.
The bank raised the refinancing rate Dec. 1 from 9% amid a rising inflation rate and a substantial increase in profits in the inter-banking market.
Latest available data shows that consumer prices rose 0.8% on the month in February, compared with a 1.1% rise in January.
Inflation in 2007 reached 18.8%, up from 8.4% in 2006.
