MOGADISHU (AFP)--Two foreign U.N. aid workers were abducted by armed men Tuesday in southern Somalia, a local government official and local elders told AFP.
"We don't have much information for the moment but what I can say is that two foreign aid workers from the Food and Agriculture Oganization were intercepted by armed militiamen on their way to Buale," local district commissioner Ibrahim Noleye said.
"We believe they are being held hostage," he said.
